Completed in April 2016 and regarded as one of the most advanced healthcare facilities of it’s time, Childress Klein and Cambridge Healthcare Solutions, LLC. (JV) developed this 430,000 SF facility, with 295,000 SF dedicated to clinical use.
This inviting space welcomes veterans and their families into a bright, spacious, and uplifting environment designed for easy navigation and accessibility. Combined with modern technologies and world-class healthcare service, this facility allows veterans in just one visit to “fill a cavity, stitch a wound, get a pap test, pick-up prescriptions at the pharmacy, receive physical therapy and more.”
The center is part of the Salisbury VA Health Care System, which includes the W.G. (Bill) Hefner VA Medical Center and community-based outpatient clinics in the Charlotte University area, Hickory and Winston-Salem.
Childress Klein and Virginia-based Cambridge Development Group teamed up for the project and formed the JV Childress Klein-Cambridge Healthcare Solutions to design, build and provide facility management for the project.
This project was sold in 2023.
We conducted six all-day sessions so that all stakeholders could deeply understand the concerns and goals of those designing, constructing, and building the facility. As a result, we have a superior product with innovations in the process as well as our final product.
